Registration General Overview
You can register online by midnight on Sunday Aug 10th or you can register in person at the Park on Friday Aug 15th or early on Saturday the 16th. Registration for more than one event is allowed; we scheduled the event start times to allow you to participate in all five Saturday events for one low fee. (For example, you could do the 21 mile ride at 7:00 am, run the 10K race at 8:30 am or the 5K at 9:00 am, walk the 5K course at 10:30 am, enjoy the family fun festival and watch your tots run the 1K kids run, diaper dash or toddler trot at 11:30am.) After a low cost lunch you can enjoy theBEAT GOES ON Christian Rock Concert as you get stoked to get soaked in the World's Largest Squirt Gun Fight...and you will only pay for one event (the highest fee).

Both registration fees and pledges can be paid in person on the day of the event with check, cash, MasterCard or Visa.

Is there Pre-Event (Early) Packet Pickup or onsite registration?
Yes -- Early registration, donation turn-in and packet pick up is available on 3 dates:

  • THU AUG 14 5:00-8:00 pm at Sports Authority in Tacoma
  • FRI AUG 15 4:00-8:00 pm at Ft Steilacoom Park 
  • SAT AUG 16 opening at 6:30 am at Ft Steilacoom Park 

Are kids free?
Kids 10 and under are always free but will require a guardian to sign a waiver for them to participate.

How much are T-shirts?
$10.00 for Rally Tees. $20 for LumaGlow LED animated tees.

Can I register for more than one event?
Registration for more than one event is allowed; we scheduled the event start times to allow you to participate in all five events for one low fee. (For example, you could do the 21 mile ride at 7:00 am, Run the 10K race at 8:30 am or the 5K at 9:00 am, walk the 5K course at 10:30 am, enjoy the family fun festival and watch your tots run the 1K kids run, diaper dash or toddler trot at 11:30 am. Then get soaked at the World's Largest Squirt Gun Fight at 1:30pm. You will only pay for one event (the highest fee).

Can team members register for different events?
Yes, team members are allowed to do different (and multiple) events.

Teams 
Teams are created for fundraising and participant purposes. Those who register to participate and would like to fundraise may join a fundraising team or raise funds with their own fundraising page (separate from, or as part of, a fundraising team). If creating a team online, create your team page as part of the registration process and identify yourself as the team leader. Invite friends to join your team right from your page. New team members will need to know the team name in order to add themselves to the team. There is no discount for registering as a team. Team members may register for different events.

Pledge Information
Pledges must be paid no later than October 31st, but you can definitely pay your pledges in advance. You can also turn in pledges when you pick up your packet. Pledges are not mandatory, and any individual with pledge money from $1 to $10,000 or more qualify for incentive prizes. Pledges are tax deductible, under 501(c)(3) Tax I.D. # 02-0732247. The registration fees are not counted against pledge/donation totals. We will accept registration, pledge, ticket & merchandise payments on Visa or MasterCard. 

Prize level incentives will be made available from this link by July 1st. Any individual with pledge money from $1 to $10,000 or more qualify for incentive prizes.

BIKE RIDE

Where does the course begin/end?
The Start/Finish line of the course is at Ft Steilacoom Park. Riders will exit the park and join one of 2 safe, scenic and challenging courses which build upon each other. Click the following links to see the routes: 21 mile 42 mile

Are there suitable areas along the route for family members/friends to cheer on the bikers?
Yes. Great viewing points are located at the end of the race at event central.

What time do I have to begin the bike ride?
Registration opens at 6:30 am and closes at 9:15 am for the 21 and 42 mile bikers. Pancake breakfast begins at 6:00 am. The courses open at 7:00 am. BIKE COURSE REST STOPS close at 12:00 pm. The FUN 4US Finish Line Festival ends at 12:00 pm and entry to the theBEAT Goes On concert and World's Largest Squirt Gun Fight begins at 12:15 pm.  Free massages and family-priced food will continue until 3:00 pm. 

Safety information for ride
Child carriers are permitted, so long as they are ANSI certified and your child is properly fitted with a helmet.  You can tow your child on the ride (using a tag-along, Burley-type cart or rear-mounted child carrier). Uncertified towing will not be permitted (i.e. Red Flyer wagons, soapbox carts, etc). Riders must be 16 years old or older to ride any of the courses without adult supervision. Helmets are required for all riders. Nurse volunteers will be present at Ft Steilacoom Park. We will have SAG (Supply and Gears) vehicles driving loops along every segment of the ride as well as two rest stops.

All 3 courses are moderately hilly.
21 mile has 500 feet of elev gain.
42 mile has 1,000 feet of elev gain.

Why did you get rid of the 4 Mile Family Fun Ride?
In order to deliver the best value for a family dollar and properly execute the half-marathon -- we had to eliminate the Family Fun Ride.  

RUN/WALK

Are there suitable areas along the route for family members/friends to cheer on the runners?

Is the run a race?
Yes. The 5K, 10K and half marathon are timed races. The 5K is USATF certified

What are the run and walk routes?

Are there rest stops on the Run/Walk Courses?
There will be two refreshment stops providing sports drinks and water for the run/walk. Half-Marathoners will pass 8 refreshment stops.

Can I run with a stroller or dog?
Yes. But please know the following: 1. A significant portion of the runs are on a trail; 2. Plan on starting at the back of the pack so as not to impede other runners. 3.  The half-marathon race does a double lap on the 10K course -- please make way for them as they attempt to pass you.

If you plan on bringing a dog, keep in mind: 1. The dog must be on a leash at all times; 2. Clean up your doggie's messes. 

When do the run/walk courses close?
All run/walk courses close at Noon.

FAMILY FUN EVENT INFO

Will day-care be provided?
Yes -- for a fee. We will provide day care to the children of runners only (we need to know that parents are in the immediate vicinity of event central at the Park -- not outside the confines of the park on a 70 mile motorcycle rally or a 21 or 42 mile bike ride).

The Family Fun Event presumes that while either parent is riding a long-distance ride the remaining spouse/relative remains behind to walk, run or just have fun with the kids. We recommend that parents have a trusted, responsible family member or friend supervise their children on what will be a truly memorable Family Fun Day.

Who is allowed on the inflatables? Will there be supervision?
Adults and kids are both welcome to the inflatables.  We also have a toddler fun tent with all sorts of toddler-friendly activities. Highly responsible and dedicated volunteers (2 per inflatable) will ensure your kids have fun and play safe.

Is the Family Fun Festival Free?
Yes.  The Family Fun Festival is free; however, all participants must sign a waiver and receive a hand stamp to participate on the inflatables, or run in the races.

Is there food provided, and can I bring my own food?
Other than the free pancake breakfast from 6:00 am - 9:30 am, there will be no free food at the Family Fun Day Event. 4US food vendors will be present selling a variety of American fare at reasonable prices (with 100% of proceeds going to charity). Also, our bike routes pass local delis and restaurants and convenience stores so make sure to pack some cash.

You are welcome to bring your own food.

What are the provisions if it rains?
All events and activities proceed rain or shine. We live in Washington!

Where can I park?
There is parking for 1,200 vehicles within a 1/4 mile walk of the main event area at Ft Steilacoom Park.  There is handicap & elderly parking as well as an event drop off lot right next to the registrations tent and Family Fun Area.  Volunteer parking assistants will be on duty.

Merchandise Information
Our merchandise includes head gear, water bottles, T-Shirts (cotton and Hi-Tech), coffee tumblers, duffels, hoodies, computer travel brief, blankets, and illuminator jackets. We will have limited availability of goods in stock for the day of the event. It will be first come first served so please come by on FRI for pre-event package pickup. After we run out, presuming we have sufficient interest to justify an order for each respective item - we will order them for you and mail them to you by Thanksgiving. Event cotton tees are $10 for all participants. (Kids 10 & under get free registrations but must pay $10 for a tee shirt). Any other gifts will be considered based upon your pledged donations. A: Nope. We needed 3,876 water warriors. We had 1,433.
The battle continues on AUG 15, 2015.

Q: What are the final fundraising and participation numbers?
A: A record 4US -- even if not 4 Guinness. We had about 4,000 participants total across our 6 events spanning 2 days. Last year's record was 2,500 total. (NOTE: We're still sorting through a record number of registrations and will have official numbers soon).

FUNDRAISING: We need a couple weeks (did I mention that we're all-volunteer?). Once we tally all registrations we'll have the EVENT fundraising numbers.

One event photo and all Saturday Rally events are included. Courses open at 7:00 am and close at 12:30 pm; family-priced food & massages end at 3:00 pm.

The signature family fun festival is an event designed for the entire family. While Mom (or Dad) is blowing a heart gasket on the hills of Steilacoom, Dad (or Mom) and the kids can enjoy activities, including inflatables, face-painting, petting zoo, balloon animals, music and food. The Family Fun event kicks off at 7:30 am.  Youth races you don't want to miss, including a diaper dash, toddler trot and short fun runs for kids 10 and under with ribbons for all the kids begins at 11:30 am.

Come for the fun, stay for The World's Largest Squirt Gun Fight kicking off at 12:15pm. (Kids 10 & under are free: $10 for adults).

Family-friendly priced food and entertainment until 3:00 pm.

Walk 4US (Pound the Ground 4 UltraSound)

Start Time: Saturday August 16 - 07:30 AM

NEW for 2014!! A Half Marathon Walk. 

Lace up your walking shoes, prep your baby buggies and join hundreds of champions that will stroll in the 9th annual Walk 4US. Walkers will enjoy beautiful scenery through wooded grasslands, past a serene pond and along wooded trails. Courses are a combination of trail and pavement, some cinder and are well marked with signage, monitors and traffic police. Load up on pre-walk pancakes and enjoy the family fun festival with music, bounce houses, petting zoo, slides, entertainment and great food afterward. Free event photo, massages, concert and World's Largest Squirt Gun fight attendance for all paying registrants (kids 10 & under are free).

Half Marathon Walk starts at 7:30am.  
5K Walk begins with a group start at 10:30 am. Courses close at Noon.

Roll 4US Motorcycle Rally (Around the Sound 4 UltraSound)

Ride your hog for a righteous cause. Who needs a military jet fly-by to kick off the Rally Round 4 UltraSound when a herd of motorcycles will roar in unison following the national anthem?  The 70 mile road rally will tour the South Sound with stops at a beneficiary center before returning to kick off the World's Largest Squirt Gun Fight.

START TIME: Kick Stands Up at 08:10 AM (staging & ride briefing to begin at 07:20 AM)

1 Jacket pin for each rider and free attendance to any other Rally events (including Friday night's concert, theBEAT).

Run 4US (Pound the Ground 4 UltraSound)

Start Time: Saturday August 16 - 08:30 AM

Run with champions on the 5K, 10K and Half-marathon race courses through Ft Steilacoom Park. The courses are mostly flat, fast and fantastically beautiful with one memorable hill (2 for the half-marathon). Course is a combination of trail and pavement and is well marked with signage and course monitors. Three water stations serve the course (5 water tables for 10K and 10 for half-marathon). Free pancake breakfast, event photo and post-race massages for all paying registrants (kids 10 & under are free). Tee-shirts are $10. 

Courses close at Noon. 1st-3rd place medals across all age & gender divisions.

NOTE: You are allowed to bring your own squirt guns to the event -- however, in order to comply with Guinness World Record rules, they must be available "off the shelf" and not functionally modified (in other words, you can paint 'em, put stickers on 'em, change their looks however you like -- but you can't strap a water barrel to your back and pump it to your squirt gun). Our gate staff reserve the right to remove any disqualifying water guns.
